Name: Amanda Sarsha
Position: Co-President
Year: Junior
Major: Computer Science
Why I joined STF: I joined STF to help the girls across the world who aren't able to access the education so many of us take for granted. I'm excited to be co-president this year and cultivate a community for others that has been a home for me for so many years. I'm excited to see all we accomplish and to see where creativity, kindness, and hard work lead us. STF is a great place to learn humility, lend a global hand, and be part of a supportive and fun community here on campus! I'm looking forward to an awesome year!

Name: Maria Szalkowski
Position: Vice President - Global Awareness
Year: Senior
Major: Biology
Why I Joined STF: I have always been a big supporter of equality in education. When I found She’s the First I was excited to get involved because the organization is making real strides to close the education gap. Through She’s the First I have seen how powerful getting an education can be and how meaningful the work that we do really is. Spreading global awareness here at home is an important piece of this puzzle and I am so excited to be able to do this while surrounded by such a supportive and positive campus chapter!

Name: Tess Iding
Position: Vice President - Communications
Year: Sophomore
Major: Political Science and Communications
Why I Joined STF: It’s a club that raises money and awareness for an amazing cause, and it also happens to be filled with incredibly kindhearted members. I’ve always felt passionately about issues surrounding the topic of gender equality, and STF does a fantastic job of discussing these issues along with proactively taking measures to help those who suffer from such disparities. Through organizing fun and unique events for the Madison community, and by being able to receive letters from our scholars, this chapter demonstrates that anyone can play a direct part in helping those in need across the globe.

Name: Ellen Robinson
Position: Vice President - Community Engagement
Year: Sophomore
Major: Psychology and Social Welfare
Why I joined STF: I joined She’s The First because I believe in the power of education. Not only does education give independence and confidence to she who has it, but it elevates all of those around her. STF motivates me to do my part in working toward gender equality and everything that comes with it, from boosted economies to better health outcomes to an increased quality of life. STF was the first organization that truly resonated with me and welcomed me on campus, and I am so proud and thankful to be a part of it!

Name: Connor Henne
Position: Vice President - Fundraising
Year: Senior
Major: Actuarial Science
Why I joined STF: Joining She’s the First was an easy decision for me and one of the best I’ve made while at UW. As an analytically-driven individual, I was initially motivated by the long-lasting and far-reaching outcomes that STF can create with a relatively small amount of capital. Our scholars empower not only themselves but also their families, communities, and local economies with enhanced quality of life, better health outcomes, and the advancement of economic development. Since joining, I have had many opportunities to engage with unique and charismatic individuals all while learning how to be a better global citizen. I look forward to continuing my personal development with STF by utilizing my skills and strengths as a member of the Exec Board.
